Ptl. Marion Charles Steele 9/10/1966 Patrolman Steele was on duty in Chesterfield County when he was shot to death by one of three teenagers during a traffic stop. One of the teenagers was charged with murder and the other two plead guilty to being an accessory after the fact. Patrolman Steele was a five year veteran of the Patrol and was a native of Lancaster County. His brother was also a patrolman.
