Ptl. George Gibbs Broome 5/28/1941 Patrolman Broome was on duty in Jasper County when his patrol vehicle struck a parked truck during heavy fog. Patrolman Broome died the next day from injuries he sustained. Patrolman Broome was a thirteen year veteran of the Patrol and was a native of Richland County.
