Pfc. David Lee Alverson 11/13/1981 Patrolman First Class Alverson was on duty in Orangeburg County at a construction area when his patrol vehicle was struck by a tractor trailer. Patrolman First Class Alverson died the next day from his injuries. The driver of the tractor trailer was charged with reckless Homicide. Patrolman First Class Alverson was a three year veteran of the Patrol and was a native of Spartanburg County.
