Charles Beange died on April 6, 2004.
The affect of Charles' death was captured by his younger sister, Natalie, in the following e-mail she sent out to various friends of Charles.
My wonderful brother and closest confidante, Charles Andrew Allan Beange, died on Tuesday, April 6, 2003, at 6:45 p.m.
Last night, I arrived home from grocery shopping to find two police cars parked in my driveway. A rush of thoughts streamed through my mind as I parked the car and ran inside the back door. My dad stepped out of the kitchen and said, "Your brother, Charles, was killed in a motorcycle accident." I remember screaming and sobbing and collapsing as he held me and kept saying over and over again, "He's with Jesus."
My older brother, Charles, knew Christ as His Savior and is now rejoicing in heaven and is waiting for me this very minute. I know that when my time comes, he will be waiting at the gate to welcome me into Eternity.
Charles, an avid motorcycle driver, was killed while returning on his motorcycle to his apartment in Greenville, South Carolina, where he was attending Bob Jones University. Witnesses of the accident, who had been driving alongside him for quite sometime before his accident, firmly stated that he was a very good and confident driver and was also driving cautiously. The highway he was driving on was small, with several crossroads and no stop lights or stop signs. An SUV pulled out from a side road without stopping and cut in front of Charles, causing him to brake suddenly. The motorcycle was forced onto its side and Charles slid underneath the SUV. The accident occurred at 6:15 p.m. Charles' ribs were broken and his spinal cord was severed in two places. I am so grateful that God kept him unconscious until his heart stopped beating and could not be resuscitated, half an hour later.
Please, please pray for my family and me: My dad and mom, my older sister, Julia (21), and my younger brother, James (16). We are all desperate. I cannot come to grips with the fact that he’s never coming home again.
Natalie
