Brian was my first born son...but also a grandson, a brother, a friend, a boyfriend, a NASCAR fan, a trumpet player, a mechanic, a welder, a poet, a philosopher, a Smokey and the Bandit devotee...and in his life and in his tragic death he had an enormous impact on so many. Brian was an imposing figure at 6'4"...but he had such a quiet and generous manner...that people were naturally drawn to him. He had friends who wanted for nothing...and friends who had nothing...and had the knack of bringing them all together.
Brian was not impressed with many things...in fact he was not a "thing" person...he liked simple pleasures...time with friends and family (with lots of talk and laughter!)...time with his German Shephard, Murdock. He was bright enough to be a doctor...but preferred working with his hands...he loved to weld and work on his 1977 Pontiac Trans Am. He would much rather head down to Lake Hartwell and do some swimming and fishing...than go to a beach resort.
Brian had a "Band of Brothers" that did so many things together...they played in the band together...they went to school together...they worked on cars together...swam together...fished together...sat down and solved all the world's problems together.
Brian will be missed...but we know that we will see him again in Glory at the appointed hour. So many of us left behind are working hard to do the things that will honor this fine young man...and ensure that someday we will embrace him again...forever. Please visit Brian's website at www.brianferguson.info where we continue to honor him.
His Dad...Alan
