My father was on his way to purchase Christmas lights to decorate the yard for Christmas 2004. He left our home at 6:18 p.m. on Sunday, January 11, 2004. At approximately 6:21 p.m., only three miles from home, he was hit head-on by a 26-year-old man.
My father's death was more than a tragedy. It was an injustice. Why should law-abiding citizens pay the price for people who disobey the laws of the road? Maybe we will never know. My father was a good man, well-known in the community, and the only TV repairman still operating in the immediate area. He was a volunteer at the BBQ festival each year and was willing to help anyone who asked. He was taken from his family and friends way too soon. Even now we feel the loss of his passing. God bless you, Daddy.
