Ben was a loving husband, father, grandfather and brother. He was very active in his community. He was an "ambassador" for Lee County. Ben served in the Vietnam War, was a Dupont retiree, a former Lee County Councilman and was currently employed with Staples Office Supplies as a Business Development Associate.
Ben and his wife, Enid, had been married thirty-nine 39 years in January. He was the father of five sons whom he loved dearly. Two of his sons are married and he had three grandchildren, Rebekah and Grace, twins, and Braedon.
He was a member of the Shiloh True Light Church of Christ.
He was killed in an accident at the end of the road where he was born and lived 55 years of his life. He pulled out in front of a tractor trailer truck and he was killed instantly. He had been driving for 47 years and had never had an accident.
He will be deeply missed by his family and friends.
