CRO Message Board / Contact Instructions
The South Carolina Highway Patrol has an established
recorded line dedicated for media use only. The media line
enables news outlets to retrieve recorded messages on
traffic incidents and collisions worked by the Highway
Patrol. Media may also leave voice mail messages for the
Community Relations Officers in the seven Troops throughout
the state. The goal of the phone system and message board is
to provide the highest level of service with accessing
information and contacting the appropriate CRO on call.
The following is a list of the recorded message boards and
their contact numbers:
• Upstate Message Board – dial 803-896-8144, press 9 and
then press 1
• Midlands Message Board – dial 803-896-8144 press 9 and
then press 2
• Coastal Message Board – dial 803-896-8144 press 9 and then
press 3
You may skip through the messages by pressing # or replay
them by pressing 1. The recorded messages play from oldest
to newest.

list:
• Troop 1 – Richland, Lexington, Clarendon, Kershaw, and
Sumter counties call 803-896-8144 and press 1 to leave a
voice mail message
• Troop 2 - Abbeville, Edgefield, Greenwood, Laurens,
