Children’s Health and Safety Fair:
A Back to School Children’s Health and Safety Fair is held each year by the South Carolina Highway Patrol at the South Carolina Criminal Justice Academy. This fun day focuses on educating parents and caregivers about a multitude of issues involving children’s safety from preparing identification kits to buckling up properly. This event is open to daycares, recreation centers, churches and other children’s groups. Participants from law enforcement to firefighters are invited to showcase safety for this group. Participating agencies include SafeKids, Community Crime Prevention, Department of Natural Resources, local police agencies, Department of Health and Environmental Control, Toys R Us, Operation Lifesaver and others.
