Location: Cedar Lane Road (S.C. 183) at Old Buncombe Road.
Description: A 1991 four-door Buick was traveling East on S.C. 183 when the driver attempted
to turn left in front of a 1995 Chevrolet truck and was struck. The impact
forced the Chevrolet truck into a utility pole and a passenger of the truck
died later at the hospital from injuries sustained in the collision. The
driver of the Buick fled the scene on foot and the Buick was later reported
stolen.
